About

The History of Roy Leclair

The company J.E. Roy Plastique Inc. was founded in 1965 in Ste-Claire de Bellechasse by Mr. Joseph Ernest Roy as a manufacturer of plastic containers produced by extrusion blow molding.

In 2000, J.E. Roy Plastique Inc. was acquired by Mr. Ronald Leclair. Following this acquisition, the company continued its growth and development.

In 2010, J.E. Roy Plastique Inc. joined forces with Emballage LeClair Distributor to complement its “Total Package” offering to customers, leading to the creation of Roy Leclair Packaging Inc. Today, more than 90% of the company’s customers are from the pharmaceutical industry. As a result, Roy Leclair Packaging Inc. follows and complies with the Good Manufacturing Practices of Health Canada. Manufacturing and administrative procedures are based on GMP and ISO 15378 standards, supported by a standardized operating system.

The company is now located in Lévis, Quebec and employs more than 40 people. It operates several extrusion blow molding (EBM) and injection blow molding (IBM) machines, with a production capacity of up to 100 million containers per year, sustained through a continuous development plan.

In 2025, under the new administration of Mikael Cyr and Nicolas Roy, the company entered a new phase of transformation. While quality remains a core pillar of the organization, innovation and customer satisfaction have regained prominence, guiding the company’s strategic direction and reinforcing its commitment to long-term value creation for its customers.
